April 2008: Ionizer Lager Release Party at Hamilton’s Tavern.

Details: This April 7th commemorates the 75th anniversary of the revision of the Volstead Act that allowed the resumption of beer sales following Prohibition. To celebrate this landmark in brewing history, we decided with Scott Blair at Hamilton’s Tavern to release this year’s first keg of Ionizer Lager. This beer is a pre-prohibition style American Lager.

Please join us in lifting a pint of Fine Lightning Beer at Hamilton’s Tavern and take pride in the hand-crafted beer developments of the past 75 years.

September 2007: Stone’s 11th Anniversary, Invitational Beer Festival.
Time: Saturday September, 8th. Two Sessions: 11:00am and 2:45pm.
Location: Stone Brewing. 1999 Citracado Parkway Escondido, CA
Details: Stone Brewing’s 11th Anniversary and Invitational Beer Festival. Thirty-nine breweries attending! Cost is $30.00 charitable donation. Food is sold separately, (cash only). You must be 21 and over to enter, (bring ID).
Please Note: Lightning’s brewery tour, tasting, and sales will be closed Saturday Sept. 8th while we attend this event.

JULY 2007: Lightning Brewery’s 1st Annual Birthday Bash!
Time: Saturday July, 21st. 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm
Location: Lightning Brewery, Poway, CA
Details: Fans of Lightning Brewery & Newcomers. All are Welcome. Be at the Brewery Saturday July 21st! Lightning Brewery is celebrating big year number one!

The celebration is open to the public. There will be Fine Lightning Beer to sample, including our core line-up: Lightning Kolsch, Thunderweizen Ale, award winning Elemental Pilsner, and American Amber Ale. Our super-premium seasonal beers will also be available including our gold metal winning Black Lightning Porter, Fulminator Lager, Ionizer Lager, and more!

The event will include entertainment, a raffle for brewery merchandise, and Classic American BBQ by Ivan Krusic’s Smoking Hole BBQ.Tickets will be $20.00 for ten 4oz tasters and you get to keep the Lightning Brewery tasting glass.

The proceeds will be going to planting trees in Poway, cancer prevention research, and college scholarships for children of deceased veterans. Attendance will be limited, so show up early!

JUNE 2007: “Meet the Brewers of California” at Stone Brewing
Time: Monday June, 11th. 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Location: Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens. 1999 Citracado Parkway Escondido, CA
Details: There will be a California Small Brewers Association meeting on June 11th at Stone Brewing Company. Many brewers will be present. After the meeting, there will be a beer social reception, Open To The Public, starting at 5:00 pm, featuring special California beers on draft. - “We will be celebrating Lightning Brewery. Along with a Cask of the ESB (which was awesome on draft) we will showcasing: Ionizer (which is a very tasty brew and currently on tap at the pub (2nd keg), Thunderweizen, and either their Kolsch or the Elemental Pilsner. Jim Crute, is a really great guy and great brewer who has brought a different lean to our SD craft beer scene. In my opinion his European styles have translated wonderfully in the San Diego climate and there hasn’t been one beer we’ve had of theirs that haven’t had customers asking for them again (both seasonal and flagship styles). I can say I’m personally very excited to be helping ring in their 1st Year Anniversary a little early pairing some fabulous cheeses and fresh fish to their wonderful brews. JUNE 2007: Pizza Port Real Ale Festival
Time: Friday & Saturday, June 1st & 2nd. Starts 4:00 pm on Fri. and 11:00am on Sat.
Location: Adjacent to Pizza Port Carlsbad, 571 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad CA.
Details: Starting at 4pm on Friday and 11am on Saturday until Pizza Port closes both days. “Real Ales” will be dispensed traditionally using beer engines. Cask Conditioned, American Amber Ale by Lightning will be available! $25 admission includes a commemorative glass and eight 4oz. taster tickets. V.I.P. admission is $40. See you there! APRIL 2007: The Inaugural San Diego Brewer’s Guild Lager Festival
